can easily identify the thlaspi its characteristic foul odor when crushed a young shoot or leaf in hand. Adults, after flowering, do not exhibit the same powerful aroma.

Edible part: you can use it the same way that Dense peppergrass. It is rather too bitter and aromatic. In the first test, it is better to add small quantities of other herbs or simply as a flavoring in warm dishes and sauces. The

thlaspi may affect the milk or cream from cows that graze. It can also flavor the beef, and if too many silicula in forage, horses, pigs and cattle can still be really poisoned. You should use this herb sparingly.

Recipe Trim sandwiches thlaspi
50 ml / ¼ cup of seedlings of Thlaspi fields, washed and chopped
250 ml / 1 cup margarine, softened
50 ml / ¼ cup sour cream Pinch of paprika

Salt to taste Mix

all ingredients and use as a filling in sandwiches with sausage, ham, Swiss cheese or salami.
Keep covered in refrigerator.

Recipe Trim "horseradish" in Thlaspi
50 ml / ¼ cup of seedlings of Thlaspi fields, washed and finely chopped
125 ml / ½ cup margarine, softened
125 ml / ½ cup mayonnaise 30 ml
/ 2 v. chopped sweet pickles
2 ml / ½ tsp tsp vinegar Salt and pepper to


taste Combine all ingredients and use as a filling in sandwiches, beef, fish or ham,
Keep covered in refrigerator.

Recipe Sandwich thlaspi, fashionable Sooke: Makes 4 servings
30 ml / 2 tsp soup of young shoots of Thlaspi fields, washed and finely chopped
50 ml / ¼ cup onion, chopped
30 ml / 2 tsp chopped sweet red pepper, chopped
30 ml / 2 tsp tablespoon butter or margarine (first number)
500 ml / 2 cups of fresh crab meat or canned
Salt and pepper to taste
20 ml / 4 tbsp teaspoon butter or margarine (2nd amount)
4 slices of cheese melted Canadian

thlaspi Sauté the onion and pepper in butter or margarine (first number).
Add crab meat and seasonings and mix well.
Spread this mixture on 4 slices of bread, then cover each with a slice of cheese and, finally, a new slice of bread.
Spread butter or margarine (2nd amount) on the outer surfaces of the sandwich and grill until nicely browned.
