APPEAL OF FOOT

APPEAL OF FOOT of Wataya Risa

Hatsu is the story of a teenager badly in his skin that fails to integrate into his class, all that, especially this is the first year of high school. It is part of the "waste" those left stranded when all groups are formed, for example to perform a TP biology. But all this will soon change when going to befriend an obsessive fan of a Japanese model.

This short novel won the Akutagawa prize, the Goncourt Japanese. Written in first person, it is a story written as a diary where the author transcribed the deeds and thoughts of his heroine. The encounter between the female character and antisocial crisis facing an otaku is like finding a form of gender relations in Japan. This is not necessarily very happy and it follows a lot of frustration. Risa Wataya but infuses her novel a certain idea of love between individuals "outside" and instills a sense of humor especially light and delicious. It is far from a story filled with bitterness even if one can always feel sad with respect to some youth. But here we do by focusing on despair, but the discovery of emotions specific to each life. The writing style is very close to feeling like a first love as our heroine attempts to shut the boy about himself. Without limiting the veil of melancholy, he emerges from this APPEAL OF FOOT a wonderful sensitivity and an immediate freshness that makes this small reading very endearing! Nice discovery!
